A year definitely to remember (like all of the 71 years I've been through). All the following is only my news bits and pieces. I hope they are more cheerful than the news of the world.

2005
TO ALL MY WELL-WISHERS: THE CARPAL TUNNEL OPERATION WENT VERY WELL. I'M PLAYING AGAIN WITH NO PROBLEMS. THANKS TO DR. CATALANO OF CV STARR HOSPITAL IN NEW YORK CITY.
2004
April 1, 2004: a perfect day for summing up a whole year. The home of Sonny Ochs, in Franklinton NY: a perfect place to sit and write a new What's New.
2003
PYPER'S PLACE, Irene's coffeehouse, is up and running. Come and visit. It's at 233 Montford Avenue, Asheville, 28801. She had a soft opening and the lovely place is struggling along, as would any coffee destination would in the heart of a suburb.
2002
OCTOBER/NOVEMBER 2002 were spent on the road in England, Scotland and Ireland. When you've been in the States for any length of time, the proximity of European towns, cities and villages to one another is striking.
