Peggy Quotes

By telling Jimmy Massey's life story, and by the profound way you shaped your lyrics, you have made him so close we must see he is undeniably us--who we are and why we are. I want to express my gratitude to him for telling his story, and to you for giving me a way to connect with his story and my own heart as I share his message with others. Thank you. Suzanna Hough

Peggy Quotes 2

First off, Seeger's a daunting multi-instrumentalist, playing guitar, autoharp, banjo, piano, concertina, and of course singing. However, she doesn't just play, she demonstrates a fluency surprising even for an overachiever on the banjo, and her vocals can be either bird-on-a-wire delicate or gusty, ringing with authority and surprising projection.

25 Irene on the Soren Larson.JPG

December 15, with the autumn weather still rampant in Boston, I fly away to New Zealand. An awful trip but Irene has given me her airmiles and upgraded me to business class for the worst leg of the trip, Los Angeles to Auckland (13 hours). From door-to-door it takes 36 hours. I travel easily but the business class was heaven. You can scoff champagne then lie down and sleep. I arrive on December 17 and on December 20 we're on the move. Drive from Kenepuru to Blenheim, fly to Wellington (North Island) and take the scenic train (12 hours) up to Auckland. Wonderful wonderful trip. We're heading for the Soren Larsen, a brigantine on which we are going to spend five days, her Christmas present to me. PEGGY HAS A ROTTEN COLD for the whole of the trip. Coughing, sneezing, aching, but the Soren was the place to be. Irene looks great though.
